Terms of Service
Effective date: April 2026 · Last updated: April 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully. By creating an account or using the Workwell Collective platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.
Overview
Workwell Collective is a private, invitation-only peer support platform that connects professionals seeking perspective on real workplace moments with experienced peers who have navigated similar situations. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Workwell Collective platform, including the website at workwellcollective.ca and the member application accessible at app.workwellcollective.ca.
The terms 'we', 'us', and 'our' refer to Workwell Collective. The terms 'you', 'your', and 'member' refer to individuals who access or use the platform, whether as a Seeker or a Guide.
Section 1 — Access and Eligibility
Workwell Collective is currently available by invitation only. By accepting an invitation and creating an account, you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years of age
- You are accessing the platform for your own professional use, not on behalf of an employer or for commercial purposes
- All information you provide during registration is accurate and complete
- You will maintain the security of your account credentials and are responsible for all activity on your account
You may not transfer, sell, or share your account with any other person. Membership is personal and non-transferable.
Section 2 — Member Roles
Workwell Collective has two member roles:
Seekers are members who use the platform to find a Guide and book a peer support session. Seekers complete an onboarding flow that helps the platform match them with an appropriate Guide based on their situation, work environment, and preferred support style.
Guides are members who have been approved by Workwell Collective to offer peer support sessions. Guides complete an application process and are reviewed before being activated. Guides offer their lived experience and perspective — not professional advice.
Members may participate as both a Seeker and a Guide. Role selection can be updated at any time from your profile.
Section 3 — Guide Approval
Guides are reviewed and approved by the Workwell Collective team before their profile is made available to Seekers. Approval is based on lived leadership and professional experience, not titles or credentials. Workwell Collective reserves the right to decline or revoke Guide status at its discretion.
Approved Guides agree to:
- Offer peer perspective and lived experience — not professional advice
- Maintain confidentiality of all session content
- Adhere to the Workwell Collective Session Guidelines and Confidentiality Standards
- Keep their meeting link and availability up to date
- Disclose any conflicts of interest before a session
Section 4 — Sessions
A session is a one-on-one peer conversation between a Seeker and a Guide, typically 30 minutes in duration. Sessions are:
- Private and confidential between the participants
- Not recorded by Workwell Collective
- Conducted via the Guide's chosen video conferencing tool (Zoom, Google Meet, or similar)
- Not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, or psychological advice
Seekers provide context about their situation before booking, which is shared with their Guide so the Guide can arrive prepared. Guides are expected to review this context before the session.
Section 5 — Session Credits and Availability
All members receive 2 sessions per month as part of their subscription. Unused sessions may be carried over to the following month, up to a maximum of 1 session. This means the maximum number of sessions available to a member in any given month is 3 (2 monthly sessions plus 1 carried over from the prior month).
Approved Guides may earn additional session credits by hosting sessions. Guides earn 0.5 credits per session hosted, up to a maximum of 2 additional credits per month. These earned credits may be used by the Guide themselves or gifted to another person of the Guide's choosing.
Gifted sessions may be used by any recipient, including individuals who are not yet Workwell Collective members. Recipients who are not yet members must create a Workwell Collective account to redeem a gifted session. Gifted sessions cannot be exchanged for cash or monetary value.
Session credits do not accumulate indefinitely. Earned and gifted credits expire at the end of the month in which they are available unless otherwise specified. Workwell Collective reserves the right to modify the session credit model with notice to members.
Section 6 — Not Professional Advice
Workwell Collective is a peer support platform. Nothing shared in a session constitutes professional legal, financial, medical, psychological, or other expert advice. Guides share their lived experience and perspective in good faith. Members are responsible for their own decisions and should seek qualified professional advice where appropriate.
If a situation shared during a session requires specialized support — legal, medical, mental health, or otherwise — the Guide is expected to acknowledge this clearly and encourage the Seeker to seek appropriate professional help.
Section 7 — Membership and Payment
Workwell Collective membership is available by paid subscription, processed through Shopify. The current membership fee is $44 CAD per month. Prices are subject to change with notice.
Founding members who join through a personal invitation during the founding period receive complimentary access, including the standard 2 sessions per month with carry-over and Guide credit earning as described in Section 5. Founding member access is personal and non-transferable.
Membership grants access to the platform for personal, non-commercial use only. Session availability is subject to Guide scheduling and availability. Workwell Collective does not guarantee a specific Guide, session time, or match outcome.
Subscription billing is managed through Shopify. By purchasing a membership, you agree to Shopify's terms of service in addition to these terms.
Section 8 — Refunds and Cancellations
You may cancel your membership at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Workwell Collective does not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
Refund requests arising from exceptional circumstances will be reviewed individually. To request a refund, contact hello@workwellcollective.ca with details of your situation. Workwell Collective reserves the right to approve or decline refund requests at its discretion.
Workwell Collective reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for violation of these Terms, the Session Guidelines, or the Confidentiality Standards. In cases of serious misconduct, no refund will be issued.
Section 9 — Confidentiality
Confidentiality is foundational to the Workwell Collective community. Members agree that:
- All content shared in sessions is treated as confidential
- Session details, personal situations, and identifying information shared by other members will not be disclosed outside the session without explicit consent
- Insights and learnings may be shared without identifying the person, situation, or any details that could reveal the individual
A full statement of confidentiality expectations is set out in the Workwell Collective Confidentiality Standards, which form part of these Terms.
Section 10 — Member Conduct
Members are expected to participate in good faith and in accordance with the values of the Workwell Collective community: respect, empathy, confidentiality, curiosity, and psychological safety.
The following conduct may result in review, suspension, or removal from the platform:
- Breach of confidentiality
- Harassment, discrimination, or disrespectful behaviour
- Presenting peer conversations as professional advice
- Using sessions for personal promotion, recruiting, or sales
- Misrepresenting your identity, experience, or purpose
- Pressuring another member into a decision
- Any conduct that violates applicable law
The full Member Conduct and Removal Policy governs how concerns are reviewed and resolved.
Section 11 — Dispute Resolution
Workwell Collective is grounded in mutual respect, compassion, and collaboration. If a concern, conflict, or misunderstanding arises during or related to a session, members are encouraged to:
- Raise concerns promptly with the Workwell Collective administration at safety@workwellcollective.ca
- Approach the situation with openness and an assumption of good intent
- Maintain confidentiality throughout the resolution process
- Focus on resolution, not blame
The Workwell Collective administration will review concerns raised, gather appropriate information, and determine the best path forward to resolve the issue while maintaining the integrity, safety, and values of the community.
Members should not attempt to resolve serious disputes independently or outside the structure of the collective. Concerns submitted in good faith will be handled with discretion and fairness.
Section 12 — Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. All personal information collected through the Workwell Collective platform is subject to our Privacy Policy, available at workwellcollective.ca/privacy.
Because the platform is hosted through Shopify and Lovable, certain information may also be subject to those platforms' privacy policies. By using Workwell Collective, you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy.
Section 13 — Intellectual Property
All content, branding, design, and materials on the Workwell Collective platform and website are owned by or licensed to Workwell Collective. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any platform content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
Members retain ownership of any personal content they provide. By submitting content to the platform, you grant Workwell Collective a limited licence to use that content to operate and improve the platform.
Section 14 — Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Workwell Collective, its founders, team members, and affiliates will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including any outcomes related to sessions, matching, or peer conversations.
Workwell Collective does not guarantee the quality, outcome, or appropriateness of any session or Guide. Members participate at their own discretion and are responsible for their own decisions.
Section 15 — Disclaimer
Workwell Collective provides the platform 'as is' and 'as available.' We make no representations or warranties about the availability, accuracy, or suitability of the platform for any particular purpose. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the platform at any time.
Section 16 — Termination
Workwell Collective may suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Confidentiality, Limitation of Liability, Disclaimer, and Intellectual Property — will continue to apply.
Section 17 — Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
Section 18 — Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify members of material changes by email to the address on file or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
